Page 200 has been added! It’s another big milestone for the comic, and it’s coming pretty close to the site’s 3 yr anniversary (Mar 20th). I will probably make a bigger post on that date, but I figured 200 pages deserves a mention! A big thank you to everyone who has supported this comic, it means a lot! Now let’s try and make it to 300!

New Top Web Comics vote incentive, it’s the inks for a big poster (40×27″) I’m working on for future cons we will be attending. We went up 50 spots! Thanks for voting (hm… Lex in a dress might have something to do with it, hehe)

I may also use this image for the new header of the main site (no new layout, just a new header image) at around the 3 year anniversary, we started the comic on March 20th, 2009.

Also, about any issues you may have with viewing the wordpress site on IE. I know whats wrong and I found an old backup of the site that works just fine in all browsers. So now I’m going to have to work on it offline, and I will be replacing this site at some point. For the meantime, I did put in some conditional CSS for IE, which sort of fixed the double margin bug, but it still doesn’t work as well as it should.

When I put the new site together I’ll try to get it to look pretty similar to how it does now. Thanks for your patience, and in the mean time… hopefully you’re able to view this on chrome/firefox/safari.

Who knew that pressing shift in photoshop makes you draw a straight line..? NOT me, that’s for sure! XD

Well, needless to say, a simple keystroke made it so I don’t have to freehand city-scapes (as much) and that I don’t have to rely solely on the pen tool. I’ve been experimenting a lot with the last few pages (new method to color palette, shading, and drawing cities) so I hope these changes are moving the comic in a better direction.

I actually think I spend way more time on backgrounds than I do on characters now, which is crazy when I think about how I used to avoid drawing them entirely.

I’ve already put this up on the main page, but figured I’d post it here so that everyone could read it.

Okay, I want to get the crappy news out of the way. I’m going on hiatus, I’ve been trying to dance around the idea that I have a repetitive stress injury by cutting my updates, but sadly, it just isn’t good enough. Even half of the work on photoshop is still too much for my wrist right now, and seeing as it’s been this way for months, I’m forced to take a break in order to heal properly. I knew it was inevitable, I just didn’t want to admit it lol. I’m going to the physiotherapist next week, which should give me an idea of how long a break I will require.

At this point, I’m guessing it shouldn’t be more than 1 1/2 – 2 months, 3 weeks to heal (or however long I need) and about 3 weeks to prep pages to return to my regular update schedule. I’m really thankful for having such understanding readers, I will of course keep you all posted during my healing process. It’s just my left wrist that’s screwed up, which only means I can’t work digitally… Oh well, I need to brush up on my traditional skills anyhow, I’m slipping

Anyway, on to more happy news. Happy Halloween everyone! I’ve updated with some Halloween themed art, as well as a new awesome fan comic by SniperGirl (art is also linked on the main page).

I hope you all have an awesome Halloween. I’m too broke to do anything too interesting, so I’m probably going to see Paranormal Activity 3 with Drew (after watching Grave Encounters, I don’t expect to be scared all that much by it). Some of our personal horror favourites (incase you want ideas on stuff to watch for Halloween) include The Thing (1982), 1408, The Exorcist, Nightmare on Elm Street, Grave Encounters, Return of the Living Dead, Evil Dead (series), Poltergeist, and 28 Days Later (Drew likes 28 weeks later better >:D).
