  1. Duskbringer says:

I hate it when I get this weird, tingly little feeling inside of me for evil characters. That usually means that I can foresee this actually happening (With lots of “if”s and “maybe”s). That, and that you do a good job at storytelling.

You managed to make me hate a character right away! Thumbs up.

Seems like the archetypical Evil Empire Officer. One not to be hated, but pitied, and his every utterance answered by a facepalm.

I don’t see why a stable and carefree existence would be the best thing for humanity. That hardly builds character! But perhaps it’s what he thought Drysdale needed to hear.

  5. Duskbringer says:

“Builds Character” Isn’t something usually widely accepted as a nation on earth.

For instance: Global war against an enemy known to be far superior to us could be considered as a “building character” thing. But then, would you really like it?

On earth, at the moment, there’s something that’s widely accepted as simply being “what people want” (even though not ALL of us really like that) and it’s a routine. When people know how it’s gonna go, they feel safe. A people that feels safe is a people that can take care of itself without sparking uprisings for many a reason.

But I like your idea of the “what he needs to hear”. Could it be that he is able to plan so damn far ahead that he knows that this particular man won’t be of use to him/his endeavors in the not so far future?

    Heh. I get a little critique-y when I’m tired.

    Have a good one!

    ^ Well said.

Also, Winters is quite the manipulator, he’ll say whatever he needs to in order to get what he wants.

Thanks for the wicked feedback, guys! :)

I was super stoked that every officer has a good to go stache. Can’t wait to see a Sergeant Major.

threatening one of your officers? Dumbest idea in the universe. This does not inspire confidence in anyone, and most people dislike you more when you threaten them.

It seems that antagonists are most often utilitarian,”for the greater good”. They seem to be able to get away with anything that way, as long as it appears to work towards that “greater good”…

Although it’s slightly ironic, you have an extra s in ‘dismissed’.

Someone who can’t take questions or criticism is exactly the *wrong* person to put in a command position. And yet they end up there so frequently… *sigh*
