Honour is a cultural thing and as such may not extend to other species or even other cultures within your species. Real world example: The Japanese are considered honourable and numerous honourable alien races have been based on their culture. However if you look at their treatment of enemies and civilians in the second world war or going further back into their own history you find that honour only applies to people who are deemed worthy of it
Honor is also in the eye of the beholder. It is defined by a society at large. What may be honorable to them may be disgusting to us and visa versa. For instance sacrificing oneself for another maybe noble and honorable to us, humans, but may be perceived as weakness to them.
